Summer Holidays are here!

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Monday, July 18, 2011,
Only one more week until the school holidays begin and the Wolfwhistle team was super happy to learn that from 2012 Defra is going to change the PET passport requirements with regards to leaving and re-entering the UK! Hopefully they are also going to relax the tick and tapeworm vet visit or at least the 24 hour window within which you have to have your dogs prodded and doused before you hit Calais, where the ladies at the PET section don't even read the microchip for you anymore. You have to...

There is a sheepdog in all of us!

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Friday, June 24, 2011,
Don't tell anybody in Richmond Park, but Matilda has discovered a secret passion: the herding of small deer!
She keep them in small groups, with just enough distance not to spook them and even attempted to get them through the gate into the enclosed pasture for the cattle. Being a Border Collie x Lurcher she has no 'collie stare' to hypnotize the deer, but she just charms them with her smile instead!
Well, I made half of this up! I was glad she came back when I whistled for her! However, I wish...

Wolfwhistle Logo

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Monday, June 13, 2011,
We have teamed up with Renata Zverak of Cherry Jam Design to come up with a proper Wolfwhistle Jewellery Logo! This will not only go onto all correspondence but it will also be stamped onto each whistle! If you have any great ideas please do send us an email! Soon it will be unveiled! We will keep you posted!

Merlin: She is working too hard! And WE are the ones that are suffering! I have had no walkies today!
Matilda: That is because you did not actually walk when we were in the park! You just ...

Gone to the USA

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Monday, May 30, 2011,
We are now represented in the US by stockdoggems! Have a look at their amazing website! Soon dog herding will be an olympic discipline, you've heard it here first! And we are also welcoming little Gracie into our circle of friends. Gracie will have Pumpkins big boots to fill, but we are sure she is going to do it in her own way!

Matilda:Howdy, Gracie
Merlin: I hate puppies! And drop that silly American accent, Matilda!

Wolfwhistle's Matilda mourns friend

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Thursday, May 19, 2011,
Sorry, fellow Wolfwhistlers, for having been absent for such a long time! We have had the Easter holidays and we took Merlin to Germany where he learned to appreciate the delights of German bread! Matilda stayed in England to play with her friend Pumpkin.
Unfortunately Pumpkin was tragically run over last Monday and we are still in shock... our hearts go out to Tara and Emelia... Myself, my daughter and the dogs have been really upset, as Pumpkin used to come over for sleepovers a lot and was ...

Wolfwhistles are back from Crufts

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Thursday, March 17, 2011,
It was a mad day at Crufts! SO much to see - and that was just the retail stalls! We met up with lovely Fiona of Melrose & Mutt and were trying to find Jo Good and Anna Webb, but those two had spent the entire Thursday at Crufts already and were 'crufted out'. The NEC was packed with shoppers, dogs, any merchandise remotely associated with dog ownership but: not a whistle in sight (apart from the odd gundog whistle)!!!! We would like to have a presence at Crufts or Discover Dogs some day, but...

Wolfwhistles go Crufts

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Wednesday, February 23, 2011,
Our Wolfwhistles are going to Crufts! But hey, being a small company and with the sidekicks (Merlin & Matilda) not allowed inside (unless there was 'most beautiful Lurcher' or 'most flatulent hairy toy breed') there is just no point in taking out one of those big booths! Instead, Gunilla is going to 'mingle', supported by a little ad in the Crufts programme! For all of those who want to see the whistle in action and don't find Gunilla (which is quitle likely in the masses of people...), go an...

Wolfwhistle dog becomes Muse to Artist

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Thursday, February 3, 2011,
Matilda recently 'sat' for London based artist Louise, who felt inspired by our scruffy lurcher to paint her - via her computer! Louise has taken art into the 21st century by zooming into the 'object', looking at minute detail that normal artist's eyes can't see, and thus building up the image until... it almost breathes! Enjoy! Please also have a look at our updated How to wolfwhistle Instruction page both in English and German on our site! Can you guess what this whistle sound is? Tuituituu...

Wolfwhistles go fashion!

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Tuesday, February 1, 2011,
Gunilla has become a regular guest on Jo Good's Sunday Sessions, every Monday from 10pm til midnight on BBC London Radio 95.9fm (available online and on the iplayer too for our international listeners!). The presenter usually introduces her as a 'Actress, Jeweller, Artist and Enthusiast', which we all find just about sums her up! Since many girls cannot whistle on their fingers for encores, and this being a live music show, the Wolfwhistles have been a real hit with the listeners and thus bra...

Wolfwhistles go Germany!

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Saturday, January 15, 2011,
Das Dog Magazin, the German 'Vogue' of Dog mags, kindly featured the Poodle Wolfwhistle in their first issue of the year! And the questions are starting to pour in, so don't be alarmed when you start finding some of the text translated into German on our site, it is by invitation, not invasion (ho ho ho! I am allowed to make that joke, I am German!!!)! Anyhow, not only our Postman is lugging sacks full of cards, the email administrator is wiping the sweat off his forehead! And in the meantime...

Your Dog Giveaway floods Wolfwhistle Studios

Posted by Gunilla Karlson on Friday, January 14, 2011,
The February Issue of Your Dog Magazine only hit the shelves last weekend, but it has already unleashed a torrent of cards and letters pouring in for the Wolfwhistle Free giveaway! So much so that the postman, squinting at 'Your Dog Giveaway, Wolfwhistle Studios etc' wondered what sort of celebrity dog I was giving away! We were thinking of drawing the lucky winner out of a hat, but now we are considering a bag...!
Merlin had a rocky week, a flare up of his IBD (which is not pretty nor does i...
